The rear of the garden floor was gutted, leaving intact
a room at the front of the building where Silverman
sees clients. A new steel-and-glass wall frames a
light-flooded art studio and weaving workshop. Blackand
white marble floor tile from Waterworks defines
a classic yet imaginative kitchen built around the
kitchen’s original coal stove. Pale green cabinets sport
intentionally mismatched handles. A countertop of
rose quartz and brass fixtures impart a bit of glitz.
