Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic,
we’ve continued to combine BORO with our sister
publication, LIC Courier, so that we can highlight
local businesses, artists, changemakers and more.
The holiday season is a time for giving, so
we’re highlighting The Connected Chef, a local
organization that pivoted their operations during
COVID-19 to launch a Lifeline Grocery program.
The initiative provides Queens residents in need
with nutritious, locally sourced grocery boxes (page
14). The seventh annual LIC Summit looked a
little different this year due to the pandemic, so its
focus was how key groups across multiple industries
could work together to recover in a post-COVID
world (page 22). Business leaders held an annual
tree lighting at Astoria’s Athens Square Park. See
photos from the festive event (page 26).
