hoping for her first book deal! She looked
casual and cute in her dungaree shorts
and was off to enjoy one of the many

s the summer winds
down in New York, sometimes
fashion needs to
scale back, too.
An abundance of summer
prints and florals
can get overwhelming,
and heading back to basics is
a great way to reset before the
fall trends roll in. Incidentally,
Power Red, Victorian-style collars
and glitter boots are all
forecast to be big next season
(you have been warned)!
This month, the fashion mavens
of Astoria were keeping
things simple in a chic mix of
black, white and denim. Monochromatic
dressing will always
be in style, and these Astorians
looked sleek, fun, cool and
edgy. It’s all about how you
wear it.

designer who was out for brunch. He picked
up the pants at Ditmars Thrift Shop in Astoria.
“I’m kind of obsessed with them,” he told me.
I dream of being this cool.

I loved her
mesh black
shirt paired
with crisp,
white jeans
and sneakers.
Perfect for
Sunday
shopping.
