Young artists living in Queens
now have a new option for creative
fun as Art Strong NYC, a
community arts organization
based out of Long Island City,
opened its first physical art studio
last month.
The new space, located at 43-67 11th
St., will allow the organization to hold
summer camps, after-school programs,
classes, birthday parties and events
that weren’t previously possible.
Art Strong was founded by Ashley
Cavadas and Hannah Lokken, both art
teachers and Astoria residents. The organization’s
mission is to bring arts education
to a community that the founders felt
lacked these kinds of opportunities.
