Summer is the perfect time to indulge in
sweets: a popsicle from the ice cream truck
melting over your fingers; a classic ice cream
cone on the beach; and s’mores roasted over a
campfire.
It’s hard to roast a marshmallow as a city
dweller, though, so we found you some great
alternatives — s’more-inspired treats at four
local spots (page 38).
We also have two local actresses here in
western Queens who use baking as another
creative outlet. Ashley Mortensen of She
Bakes, You Eat makes delicious custom
recipes (page 18), while Kim Corbett makes
vegan treats that you wouldn’t even know
