 A massive inferno engulfed
 a Flatlands scrapyard on Nov.
14 — pumping black smoke into
the air just a few doors down
 from where another blaze
fl ared up a few weeks ago!
More than 100 fi refi ghters
 responded to the two-alarm
fi re at the junkyard on Preston
 Court between Ralph Avenue
 and Kings Highway at
2:38 pm, according to the Fire
 Department, which warned
 nearby residents to remain indoors
 and close their windows
to ward off the caustic fumes.
The fi re was declared under
control by 5 pm, but fi refi ghters
 remained hard at work trying
 to prevent combustible material
 within the scrapheap fi lled
 from reigniting, according to a
 department spokesman.
No one was injured in the
 fi re, although some vehicles
 stashed within the junkyard
 got singed, according to authorities,
  who said the cause of
the fi re is still under investigation.

 The incident comes just
 weeks after 60 smoke eaters
 quenched the blaze that overtook
 another Preston Court
junkyard just a few doors away
 on Oct. 3.
