Marine Park school bus
collision injures eight

A collision between a private car
and a school bus left eight people hospitalized
in Marine Park Thursday
morning.
The crash occurred on a residential
stretch of Avenue T between Coyle and
Ford streets at 9 a.m., according to a
spokesman for the Fire Department.
One of the victims suffered serious
wounds, while the remaining seven
escaped with only minor injuries, according
to the Fire spokesman, who
noted all injured parties were taken to
nearby hospitals for treatment.
A spokesman for the Police Department
could not immediately comment
regarding the collision.

A Brooklyn man was arrested for allegedly
soaking two traffi c cops with a water
bottle in Queens last week.
After receiving multiple Crime
Stoppers tips, police arrested the suspect
at his Arlington Avenue apartment
at around 8 a.m. on Aug. 1. He
was taken into custody without incident
and charged with harassment
and obstructing governmental administration.
Police say that at 2:34 p.m. on July
24, Larosa allegedly approached two
on-duty, uniformed NYPD Traffi c Enforcement
Agents that were working
at the intersection of 86th Street and
Jamaica Avenue in Woodhaven and
sprayed a water bottle at them. Larosa
then allegedly fl ed the scene in an unknown
direction.
The Aug. 1 arrest follows the July
24 arrest of a Brownsville man who allegedly
doused two cops with water in
East New York on July 20.
The recent incidents, along with a
similar one in Harlem, have gone viral
on social media and drawn widespread
condemnation from politicians, police
unions, and senior police offi cials.
Thief nabs phone, cash from
sleeping teen in Sunset Park

Police are searching for the crook
who swiped an iPhone and $400 off a
sleeping 19-year-old on 56th street last
week.
Surveillance footage shows the
thief approach the victim as he dozed
on the stoop of his 56th Street home
near Sixth Avenue at 5 a.m. on July 30,
before carefully sliding the victim’s
smartphone out of his pocket, and
snatching the wallet from his hand.
The bandit is about 5 feet 8 inches
tall, weighs 180 pounds, and has
brown eyes and brown hair. He was
last seen wearing black pants, a blue
short sleeve shirt, black sneakers
and a light blue backpack, according
to authorities.
Anyone who provides police with information
leading to an arrest can expect
up to a $2,500 reward through the
