We are a co-ed Catholic elementary
academy, open since 1960, with
a renewed shift in focus on early
childhood education. We offer a
faith-based and future-focused education

appropriate, inquiry-based
classrooms, led by experienced and
compassionate teachers, will provide

St. Mel’s Catholic
Academy fosters

our community works towards creating
a strong educational foundation
that is based on inquiry, exploration,
creative thinking and problem solving.
We aspire to build the foundation
so that by the time our students
leave St. Mel’s, they have developed
into spiritually alert, morally aware
and ethically empowered individuals
who will become the big thinkers,
problem solvers and leaders of
tomorrow.
Big Things Happening at St.
Mel’s
This year saw two exiting additions
to St. Mel’s Catholic Academy.
In addition to our recently renovated
Paint CAN art studio, we have installed
a brand new outdoor grossmotor
play space and start of the art
piano lab. The Dorothea Ryan and
Caterina Cassandro Children’s Playground,
built through the support
of the Unsung Siblings Foundation,
provided our children the opportunity
to grow their minds and bodies
through physical education, movement
and play. The Rafaela Fonti
Piano lab was graciously donated to
St. Mel’s by the Fonti Family. Music
instruction not only expands creativity
but also strengthens literacy and
critical thinking skills.
