Governor Cuomo made a
significant announcement on
June 16 basically re-opening
New York State from the Covid
restrictions imposed for our
safety over the past 14 months.
Public gatherings, events, and
previously closed or limited capacity
facilities are now open.
This is a great move and provides
much relief to so many
who have been isolated by
fear and NYS mandates. We
are in the beginning of our
Airport community Golf and
other events season. We are
all thrilled to be free of the constraints.
However, the mask
mandate still holds for Port Authority
buildings and facilities,
transportation terminals, and
use in airplanes. This too shall
pass, but for now let’s all conform
and not create issues like
we see with some unruly passengers
on flights disregarding
this restriction.
The airports are all beginning
to plan for re-opening and
resumption of all services at of
this writing.Masny restaurants
and shops are opening to welcome
the return of the traveler.
Many office workers will return
to work after July 4th to a reduced
weekly schedule all in
the effort to getting back to
normal as much and as soon
as possible.
We at the Airport Voice,
thank all the workers at the
airports and medical support
teams for getting us through
this pandemic and allowing our
personal and economic health
to begin to re-flourish. It is not
over, but we are considerably
over the worst impact of our
lives,
Happy July 4th! It is good
to celebrate our new freedoms
with family and friends.
