Semantics
donates to
Mosaic Church
Food pantry is life saver to local
residents
VP Nick Mascia represented JFK
Airport based Semantics organization
comprised of business people which
donated a check for $1,000 to support
the Mosaic Church food pantry in Sunnyside
Queens which has been serving
the that community for those in
need since 2020.
According to Eric, the The Semantics
itself has been helping people in
need with charitable acts and donations
since its founding in 1970.
Run by a great team headed by
Sofia Moncayo and Lucy Bodden
The Pantry services 2400 families a
week with 2 days of distribution each
week. Generous donations of fresh
produce daily from the local Skillman
Restaurant are greatly appreciated
and needed. This particular donation
was especially important since
it was Pantry as the last federal government
contribution shipment delivered
by volunteers as the Federal Aid
program was coming to an end. In
addition to the food assistance, Lucy
oversees a program to aid families
with children from newborn to toddlers
dispensing diapers as well as
baby food. This program runs once
a month. The Mosaic Church follows
Catholicism however welcomes all
denominations. Sofia & Lucy are the
only 2 church members out of the entire
volunteer team, so the assistance
comes from all walks of life with the
care and dedication to help their
neighbors in need.
VP Nick Mascia hands over $1000 donation from the JFK Airport Semantics organization
to Lucy Bodden and Sofia Moncavo.
BOOM! Supersonic announcement
UA agrees to buy 15 Supersonic Jets
United Airlines announced a commercial
agreement with Denver-based
aerospace company BOOM Supersonic
to add aircraft to its global fleet
as well as a cooperative sustainability
initiative – a move that facilitates a leap
forward in returning supersonic speeds
to aviation.
Under the terms of the agreement,
United will purchase 15 of Boom’s
‘Overture’ airliners, once Overture
meets United’s demanding safety,
operating and sustainability requirements,
with an option for an additional
35 aircraft. The companies will work
together on meeting those requirements
before delivery. Once operational,
Overture is expected to be the
first large commercial aircraft to be netzero
carbon from day one, optimized to
run on 100% sustainable aviation fuel
(SAF).
