Ventilators! Governor Cuomo called, and they listened.
Medical supplies including 1000 ventilators,
and skids of boxed face masks were delivered
by China Cargo Saturday April 4th.
Ground operations crew from Worldwide
Flight Services (WFS) handled the arriving
freight from the 747 at JFK Airport which
was rushed to warehouse for redistribution
by waiting truckers to fight covid19.
The ventilators and face masks were donated
by the Joseph and Clara Tsai Foundation
and facilitated by the Chinese government
and Ambassador Huang, the Chinese
Consul General. (Joe Tsai is the owner of
the Brooklyn Nets). Additionally, the Joseph
and Clara Tsai Foundation and the Jack Ma
Foundation have donated one million surgical
masks, one million KN95 masks and more
than 100,000 pairs of goggles to the US.

community as Pas President
of the LaGuardia Kiwanis, a former
NYPD Detective, owner of a
security firm, friend and supporter
of the JFK Rotary, ASDO, and airport
organizations. George Dixon,

Andrew Kertesz
Rest in Peace.
Andy was a familiar face at many
airport functions for years mingling
with aviation companies to
assist in staffing, support and development.
The death of one of our circle of
associates in aviation is a grim
reminder of the seriousness of this
virus and our need to follow advice
in self-quarantine and proper hygiene.
His presence will be missed
at our community events.
Francis Boccadella III
The passing of Francis “Frank”
Boccabella III, represents a personal
loss to all of us who knew
him and cherished both his friendship
and professionalism.
Frank, 39, was an Explosive Detection
Canine Handler who joined
TSA at John F. Kennedy International
Airport in June 2004, as a
TSA officer worked with cargo inspectors,
and with his canine partner,
Bullet, a 6-year-old German
Short-haired Pointer.
He is the first federal TSA employee
lost to COVID-19.
In Dedication and
Recognition of Our
Loved Fellow Workers
Succumbing to Covid -19
Imam Yuceturk of the JFKIAT
Chapels blessed the departed
members of our airports
family. God says in the Quran:
“And We will surely test you
with something of fear and
hunger and a loss of wealth
and lives and fruits, but give
good tidings to the patient”
(2:155)
So how should we respond
to a calamity? God tells us
immediately after in the next
verse: “Who, when disaster
strikes them, say, ‘Indeed we
belong to God, and indeed to
Him we will return.” (2:156)
May Almighty God guide and
help us in this world and in the
heart.
Deon Manikchand
Deon was the go-to person for
solving any warehouse issues
at the many Worldwide Flight

JFK .

the same without him around.
