Christ the King HS Receives Scholarship
Donation from Local Italian Cultural Organization
Scholarship to be Named After the Late Constance DelVecchio Maltese
Christ the King High School was visited by officers of local Italian American organization,
Associazione Culturale Italiana Di New York, to bestow proceeds from a local comedy show
to be used towards Art Scholarships for Christ the King students, totaling $5,500.
The new scholarships will be the Constance DelVecchio Maltese Art Scholarship. Mrs.
DelVecchio Maltese is the late wife of Serphin R. Maltese, Chairman of Christ the King’s
Board of Trustees. She was a renowned artist whose achievements included her award
winning “Age of Discovery Navigators” portrait series. Constance was knighted by the
Republic of Italy and given the title “Cavaliere” for her many works of art and her artistic
achievement which enhanced the Italian American heritage and experience.
Chairman of Christ the King’s Board of Trustees, Serphin R. Maltese stated, “On behalf of
Christ the King High School, I would like to thank Chairman Tony DiPiazza and Associazione
Culturale Italiana Di New York for their splendid efforts and generous contribution to Christ
the King’s students, which will allow us to reward our artistically gifted students.”

Christ the King Regional High School is a private, co-educational Catholic High School with a 4-year college preparatory curriculum.
