American Pharoah led the race at Belmont Stakes from wire to wire as the crowd of 90,000 at Belmont Park erupted in cheers and applause as they knew they were witnessing history. HILLARY CLINTON VISITS QUEENS FOR FUNDRAISING EVENT Former Secretary of State and 2016 presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton visited Terrace on the Park for a lucrative fundraiser in her honor. Rep. Joseph Crowley, leader of the Queens County Democratic Party and Rep. Grace Meng hosted the $2,700-per-plate luncheon in support of Clinton’s campaign for the White House. Many elected offi cials from across Queens joined the former fi rst lady at the event. Demanding CURES for open-top rail cars Local civics organization Civics United for Railroad Environmental Solutions (CURES) called out New York & Atlantic Railway, which operates out of the Fresh Pond Rail Yard that runs along Otto Road in Glendale, to cover their open-top railcars fi lled with construction and demolition debris. POLICE SEEK MAN WANTED FOR FOREST PARK MURDER Police were searching for Zoltan Forai, also known as Steven Forai, in connection to a murder that took place in Forest Park on June 10. Forai was known to have frequented the Bandshell and Victory Field areas of Forest Park. Forai was collared by police later that month in connection with the murder.
