The Tigers came out of the gate strong, mounting a 20-17 first quarter lead, but were held in check by Newtown’s defense in the second quarter, only managing five points. Entering the final quarter down 40- 59, the Tigers tried to mount a comeback, scoring 27 points in the final stanza, but ultimately could not make up for the slow second quarter. Senior Matthew Troche led Grover Cleveland with 23 points, while three of his other teammates, Dqui Berry, Jason Sanchez and Kacper Maziarz, added 13, 10 and 13 points respectively.
