Chatty suspect steals
woman’s phone
Cops are looking for a talkative thief
who recently struck up a conversation
with a woman, then stole her belongings
at a Jamaica station.
Th e robbery occurred at 4:43 a.m. on
Oct. 26 at the Sutphin Boulevard-Archer
Avenue station, law enforcement sources
said.
According to authorities, the suspect
— described as a black man between the
ages of 25 and 30 — began talking with
the unidentifi ed woman in an apparent
attempt to distract her. Police said
he allegedly tried to reach into her open
handbag to remove her wallet, but failed.
He became more aggressive during his
second eff ort, cops said. As they exited
the subway station, the suspect allegedly
grabbed the female victim by her neck,
threw her to the ground, and removed her
cellphone, according to police.
Th e woman was not seriously injured,
police said.

Sunnyside and Long Island City
Man robbed and
forced off 7 train
Detectives are asking for the public’s
help in fi nding a man and woman who
recently robbed a man at gunpoint as they
rode the 7 train in Sunnyside.
Th e NYPD released on Nov. 11 images
and a video of the duo responsible for
the caper that occurred at about midnight
Oct. 29 on board a Manhattan-bound 7
train approaching the 40th Street-Lowery
Street station.
Law enforcement sources said the
crooks approached the 38-year-old man
and, seconds later, the male thief displayed
a handgun and demanded the
man’s property. Th e victim provided the
male suspect his wallet and a cellphone.
Cops said that the male crook passed
the property onto his female cohort, who
placed the items inside her jacket. Th e
suspects then forced the victim to get off
at the 40th Street station, then remained
on the 7 train as it pulled away.
Offi cers from the 108th Precinct were
alerted to the incident. Th ere were no
reported injuries.
Cops described the gun-toting suspect
as a Hispanic man in his 30s, standing
between 5 feet, 3 inches and 5 feet, 5 inches
tall and weighing about 150 pounds.
He was last seen wearing a black jacket,
black pants and white sneakers.
Police said his companion is a Hispanic
woman in her 30s, standing about 5 feet,
9 inches tall, who was last seen wearing a
black jacket with white piping, dark-colored
pants and black sneakers.
A video was released showing the suspects
exiting the 40th Street stop through
the turnstiles.

Two people killed in
motorcycle accident
Cops are investigating a deadly crash in
Long Island City early on the morning of
Saturday, Nov. 10, in which two people
riding a motorcycle down the wrong way
of a one-way street collided with a van.
Law enforcement sources said the crash
occurred at 3:35 a.m. on Nov. 10 in the
area of 43rd Avenue and 38th Street.
According to information that police
obtained, the two victims — Steven
Goddard, 22, of 47th Avenue in Sunnyside
and Amy Gutierrez, 20, of 49th Street in
Woodside — were riding a 2018 Suzuki
DRZ motorcycle westbound on 43rd
Avenue, a one-way street for eastbound
traffi c. Th e motorcycle was apparently
traveling at a high rate of speed.
Seconds later, authorities said, the
motorcycle smashed into a red Ford E250
van, driven by a 27-year-old man, that
was heading eastbound on 43rd Avenue.
Th e driver stopped and remained at the
scene.
Offi cers from the 108th Precinct and
EMS units responded to a 911 call about
the crash. Upon arriving at the scene, fi rst
responders found Goddard and Gutierrez
lying on the street, unconscious and unresponsive,
with severe body trauma.
Paramedics rushed both victims to
Elmhurst Hospital Center, where they
were pronounced dead.
Th e van’s driver, meanwhile, suff ered
minor injuries and refused medical attention.
No arrests have been made, and the
NYPD Collision Investigation Squad is
looking into the case.

Flushing
Fake cop breaks into residence
Detectives are looking for a man who
impersonated a police offi cer and broke
into a home in Flushing last
month.
According to police, at 9
p.m. on Oct. 22, an unknown
man forced his way into
a home in the vicinity of
Parsons Boulevard and 34th
Avenue.
Once inside, authorities
said, the suspect displayed a
police shield and a handgun
to the two victims inside
the residence and ordered
them to vacate the premises.
Th e crook ultimately fl ed
the scene empty-handed.
Offi cers from the 109th Precinct
responded to the incident. Th ere were no
injuries reported.
On Nov. 13, the NYPD released images
of the perpetrator. He’s described as a
black or Hispanic man and was last seen
wearing a black jacket and dark gray or
brown pants.
