The club members created displays, murals, models and digital materials providing information about the attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and United Airlines Flight 93, as well as the aftermath. On the date of the anniversary, the school also held a memorial ceremony in the school yard, where prayers were offered for the victims. Jamaica Estates students honor attack victims Students at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Academy in Jamaica Estates recently traveled to Maple Grove Cemetery in Kew Gardens to remember the victims of two incidents that rocked the city and country: the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks and the 1920 bombing on Wall Street. The latter attack, which occurred 95 years ago this month, claimed the lives of 38 people and was believed to have been perpetrated by unidentifi ed anarchists. During the memorial ceremony led by teacher and historian Carl Ballenas, students rang a memorial bell for the victims of the 9/11 attack and read the names of those who died in the Wall Street bombing, many of whom are interred at Maple Grove Cemetery.
