At Hoja Santa, guests may come in
expecting to enjoy the usual delights of
Mexican cuisine, like tacos or quesadillas,
but this newest restaurant far surpasses
expectations, with dishes prepared with
“fi ne seafood,” ceviches, lamb and more.
Th e manager, Hugo, explained that at
Hoja Santa they hope to show customers
a diff erent side of Mexican cuisine.
“We want to let the people know about
a diff erent approach to the Mexican cuisine
that they are not familiar with,” Hugo
said. “People love the seafood here that
they have tried. We have a diff erent kind
of seafood preparation that surprises people.”

Queens Bakehouse
Queens Bakehouse off ers beautiful and
intricate looking pastries, as well as coff ee,
breakfast and more. Th e bakery is owned
by two business partners who are also
longtime friends, Colm Singh and Bassim
Sifelnasr. Many of their sweets surpass
the appearance of usual wares off ered
in a bakery, not only looking delicious,
but made with great care and an eye for
creativity. Th e bakery off ers many treats
including a lemon raspberry tart, chocolate
croissants and strawberry cheesecake.
