burglarized for the second time
Police are looking for the burglar who
searched the sacristy of a Howard Beach
church on Sunday aft ernoon but walked
away with nothing.
According to the NYPD, the crook
forced open the sacristy door of St. Helen’s
Church at 157-10 83rd St. just before 2:40
p.m. on July 14. It was the second time
in 2019 that the Howard Beach house of
worship had been burglarized.
Once inside, law enforcement sources
said, he searched the drawers and cabinets,
but ultimately got cold feet and fl ed
the church empty-handed.

On July 15, the NYPD released a security
camera image of the would-be burglar.

Man gropes himself on 7
train in Long Island City
Cops are looking for a creep who was
caught touching himself while riding the
subway in Long Island City a couple of
months ago.
According to police, at 7:35 p.m. on
May 16, a 28-year-old woman was riding
a southbound 7 train. While onboard, she
saw an unknown man groping his groin
area over his clothing while staring at her.
When the victim began to record the
suspect on her phone, he stopped and
left the train at the Court Square—23rd
Street station.

Crook steals cash from victim
in Flushing parking lot
Cops are looking for a crook who
robbed a man in broad daylight in the
parking lot of a Flushing gas station.
According to police, at 2:15 p.m. on July
12, the 25-year-old male victim met with
an unknown man in the parking lot of a
BP gas station, located at 154-11 Horace
Harding Expy., aft er agreeing to meet to
purchase an iPhone XS Max from him.
When the man entered the victim’s car,
he simulated that he was in possession
of a fi rearm and demanded the victim’s
property.
Th e victim complied and handed over
$1,000 in cash. Th e suspect then fl ed
the scene. No injuries were reported as a
result of this incident.
Th e suspect is described as a black man
between the ages of 25 and 30 years old
with a muscular build and braids, and
standing between 5 feet, 8 inches and 5
feet, 10 inches tall. He was last seen wearing
a white T-shirt, black pants and white
sneakers.

Slasher knifes man at
Astoria restaurant
Police need the public’s help in fi nding
a man who allegedly slashed a patron
during an argument at an Astoria restaurant
last month.
On July 15, the NYPD released photos
of the suspected slasher behind the June 9
attack at the Oven Grill and Chill located
at 42-12 Broadway.
At around 11:45 p.m. on the night of the
assault, law enforcement sources said, the
suspect got into a verbal dispute with a
28-year-old patron inside the eatery.
Th e argument turned violent, cops
noted, when the perpetrator grabbed a
cutting instrument and slashed the victim
on the arms. He then fl ed the scene in an
unknown direction.
Offi cers from the 114th Precinct
responded to the incident. Th e victim was
treated at Elmhurst Hospital.
Th e Crime Stoppers program is off ering
a $2,500 reward for information leading
to the arrest and conviction of the slasher.
Man with drill attacks
owner of Astoria store
Cops are looking for a man who
whacked an Astoria shop owner with a
drill during an argument on the premises
last month.
Authorities say that at 7:20 p.m. on June
22, the suspect, known as Frederico, was
inside 41st Grocery Store, located 30-05
41st St., when he got into an argument
with a female deli employee.
Sources familiar with the investigation
indicated that Frederico is a frequent customer
at the store.
When the store’s owner, a 44-year-old
man, tried to intervene, law enforcement
sources said, Frederico allegedly struck
him in the face with a Dewalt Power drill
that he had in his possession. Frederico
then fl ed the store in an unknown direction

e victim suff ered a laceration to his
mouth and lost three teeth. EMS responded
to the scene and took the victim to
Mount Sinai Queens Hospital, where he
was treated and released. No property was
taken as a result of the incident.
Cops described Frederico as a 37-yearold
white or Hispanic man with a medium
build and a light complexion, blue
eyes, long wavy blond hair, standing 5
feet, 10 inches and weighing 150 pounds.
He was last seen wearing a grey T-shirt,
sunglasses, shorts and white sneakers.
