He is charged with assault, criminal possession of a weapon and menacing. New officers The 104th Precinct received 13 new officers from Impact Zones in Brooklyn and the Bronx. Investigate shootings A man was shot near Cypress Hills Street and 78th Avenue around 10 p.m. on June 24. The next day, another man was shot inside of a location on 78th Avenue. The suspect in the second incident is described by police as a black or Hispanic male, around 30 years old, with brown hair, wearing a blue worker’s uniform and blue pants. The suspect was seen fleeing eastbound on 78th Avenue. The investigation is ongoing, and cops didn’t say whether the shootings were connected. Anyone with information is asked to call the 104th Precinct at 718-386-3004. 109TH PRECINCT Downtown Flushing, East Flushing, Queensboro Hill, College Point, Malba, Whitestone, Beechhurst and Bay Terrace Woman sexually assaulted at Flushing business Police are looking for a sex assault suspect caught on video in Flushing. The incident occurred on Saturday, June 22 around 4:50 p.m. near Union Street, said cops. The suspect, armed with a gun, forced his way into a business and sexually assaulted a 46-year-old woman. She was taken to Queens General Hospital in stable condition. Police describe the suspect as a white man in his 40s, 6’ to 6’4″ tall, 220 pounds and last seen wearing a lightblue T-shirt, shorts, sneakers and a baseball cap. Shooting over parking space According to a police source, two people got into an altercation over a parking space, with one shooting at the other. The suspect, a 39-year-old man, got into the argument in front of 41-41 Kissena Boulevard. He allegedly pulled out a loaded gun and shot at the victim. Rash of deception scams According to police, suspects are targeting Asian females in the College Point area. There were four incidents last week near Jetro and BJ’s, according to a source. One of them occurred on Friday, June 28 when the victim, who had been shopping at Jetro, was asked for directions to the Bronx by the suspects, who police believe to be three male Hispanics in a car. When the victim attempted to answer their question, police said, one of the perps made off with her purse, which was in her vehicle. It contained a few hundred dollars in cash and credit cards. Another incident occurred at a College Point Boulevard gas station. Police believe the incidents are related and say the suspects’ vehicle the suspects is a four-door white Nissan Sentra with New Jersey plates. 115TH PRECINCT East Elmhurst, North Corona and Jackson Heights Investigate dead man On Monday, July 1, police responded to a 9-1-1 call for an unconscious male at 72-10 37th Avenue. Upon arrival, police discovered an unconscious and unresponsive man at the location. EMS responded and pronounced him dead on the scene. CIMINO Cement & Brick Work Missing woman washes up on LI beach BY MELISSA CHAN [email protected] The body of a Queens woman who went missing in March washed ashore a Long Island beach early last week, police said. Natasha Jugo, 31, of Queens Village, vanished March 16. Cops found her personal belongings and 2009 Toyota Prius abandoned one day later on Gilgo Beach. Her body washed up on the beach on June 24, a Suffolk County police spokesperson said. The case is said to have no ties to the 2010-2011 suspected Gilgo Beach serial killings. Her Jamaica community responded by hosting a gun buyback event in an effort to get weapons off the street. On Saturday, June 29, the NYPD, district attorney and borough president put on the event at the New Jerusalem Baptist Church. Residents who came and turned in a weapon — no questions asked — received a $200 bank card in return.
