Thief steals cash and jewelry
from Flushing home
Police are looking for a crook who stole
cash and jewelry from a Flushing home.
According to police, at 7:35 p.m. on
June 13, an unknown man entered a residence
in the vicinity of Sanford Avenue
and 149th Street by climbing a wall and
forcing open an unsecured side window.
Once inside, the suspect swiped the
59-year-old female victim’s jewelry, an
undetermined amount of foreign currency
and $2,000 in United States currency.

Once he had his loot, the suspect fl ed
the scene in an unknown direction.
Th e suspect is described as a lightskinned
man who was last seen wearing
dark-colored baseball cap, a black and
white jacket, blue jeans and black sneakers,
and carrying a black backpack.

Corona, Elmhurst
Two steal $20,000 in
LeFrak City robbery
Cops are looking for two crooks who
stole thousands of dollars during a robbery
at a Corona apartment.
According to police, at 7 a.m. on June
17, a 29-year-old man was sleeping in
his LeFrak City apartment when he was
awoken by the two unknown men who
kicked open his bedroom door. One of the
men was holding the victim’s 68-year-old
grandmother by her neck and simulating
that he had a fi rearm under his shirt with
his other hand.
Th e second suspect began to search
the victim’s drawers, fi nding and taking
$20,000 from an envelope. Th e suspects
then dragged the grandmother to the
front door, where they released her and
ultimately fl ed the scene. Th ere were no
reported injuries as a result of the incident.
Police released photos and video of the
suspects on June 25. One is described as
a Hispanic man with a medium build,
standing 6 feet, 3 inches tall and was last
seen wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt
with a white T-shirt. A formal description
of the second suspect was not available,
however the suspect was last seen wearing
all black clothing.

Forest Hills, Rego Park
One cuff ed, one at large in
violent Rego Park robbery
Th e NYPD has released photos and video
of a suspect who is said to be involved in a
violent robbery at a Rego Park store.
According to authorities, at 7:22 a.m. on
June 15, a 21-year-old man was working
at the Candy Store, located at 98-51 63rd
Rd., when he was choked by an unknown
man and pulled him to the fl oor. A struggle
ensued, and the victim was slashed in
the neck.
A second man, identifi ed as 33-yearold
Christopher Castellano, allegedly went
behind the counter and stole $2,200 from
the register. Both men then fl ed the scene
in an unknown direction.
Th e victim suff ered stab wounds to the
neck and was transported to New York
Presbyterian Hospital Queens in stable condition.
On June 24, police arrested Castellano in
connection to the robbery. He was charged
with attempted murder, robbery, assault
and harassment. Sources familiar with the
investigation said that Castellano, who is
homeless, was also charged with resisting
arrest. Police say that Castellano has prior
arrests for criminal mischief, trespassing,
assault, robbery and drug-related charges.
Th e suspect at large, shown in the footage
below, is described as a black man with
a dark complexion between the ages of 25
and 35 years old.

Cops are searching
for a note-passing
crook who
tried to rob a bank
in Jackson Heights
on Monday morning.
Police say that
at around 9:20
a.m. on June 24,
an unknown man
entered Apple
Bank, located at
78-01 37th Ave.,
and approached
the teller. He
passed a note to
the teller which demanded money.
Th e teller refused, and the suspect fl ed
the scene empty-handed in an unknown
direction. Th e incident was reported to the
115th Precinct.
Th e suspect is described as a man wearing
all black clothing.

Woman found dead in South
Richmond Hill home
Cops are investigating the suspicious
death of a young woman who was found
in her bed at her South Richmond Hill
home on Tuesday evening.
Authorities say that at 6:20 p.m. on
June 24, police responded to a 911 call
regarding an aided female at a residence
on 115th Street. Upon their arrival,
offi cers in the 102nd Precinct found
Jennifer Richard, 26, lying face up in
her bed.
EMS responded to the scene and
declared Richard dead at the scene.
A spokesman for the NYPD indicated
that there did not appear to be any signs
of a struggle or forced entry. However,
police noted that Richard had suspicious
irritation to her neck.
No arrests have been made at this
time. Th e investigation is ongoing.
