The victim was approached by the pair around 5:30 p.m. on June 14 on 81st Street near Liberty Avenue when they displayed a gun and demanded her phone, cops said. Police describe the two suspects as black, about 16 years old and 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 6 inches tall. The first suspect wore a white and blue shirt and the second a red shirt. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS (8477). 106th PRECINCT South central Queens Shots fired in South Ozone Park Shots were fired on June 16 in South Ozone Park‘s Police Officer Edward Byrne Park, according to police. No one was hurt in the 8 p.m. shooting, and according to witnesses, the shooter was a man who fired into the air, cops said. Officers recovered a bullet shell from the park and they were able to verify that nobody had been admitted to the hospital with the bullet. Police noted that the shots fired come as a surprise to them because the area doesn’t have many shootings. As of press time, no arrests had been made. 108th PRECINCT Long Island City, Sunnyside and Woodside Suspect wanted in Woodside attempted rape of 61-year-old A man punched and tried to rape a 61-year-old woman in Woodside, police said. The victim was walking near 71st Street and 41st Avenue at about 10:45 p.m. on June 11 when she was attacked, cops said. After the suspect approached the woman, he punched her in the face, pushed her to the ground and attempted to rape her, according to police. The victim fought back, and the suspect fled northbound on 71st Street. The woman suffered minor injuries, cops said. He was last seen wearing a blue soccer jersey with a red stripe, dark jeans and sneakers. The robbery took place at about 10:20 a.m. at a GameStop located on 71st Avenue near Queens Boulevard, according to officials. Michael Jones of St. Albans got into a verbal dispute with the group around 11:20 p.m. on June 14 near Merrick Boulevard and 119th Avenue, police said. Jones pulled out a gun from his waist and started to shoot the people, cops said. No one was injured, according to officials. Officers who were driving nearby jumped out of an unmarked car and chased Jones, who threw away his gun before he fled, authorities said. Jones was caught and arrested around Merrick and Baisley boulevards. He was charged with weapon possession, reckless endangerment and resisting arrest, according to police. Man shot and killed inside Edge Bar and Lounge in Jamaica: cops A 35-year-old man was shot dead in Jamaica, according to police. The victim, Timothy Tripp, was shot at about 2:40 a.m. on June 14 inside Edge Bar and Lounge on Merrick Boulevard, cops said. EMS pronounced Tripp, who had a gunshot wound to his head and torso, dead at the scene, officials said.
