This year marks the 100th anniversary of Joplin’s death; for decades, he was interred in an unmarked grave at St. Michael’s until 1974, when the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers installed a plaque. This year’s Joplin concert will feature the Paragon Ragtime Orchestra. Afterward, a ceremony will be held at Joplin’s gravesite to install a memorial bench.
