Four men cuffed, including
victim’s boyfriend, after
Bayswater woman is found
dead in trunk of car
Four men have been charged in connection
to the death of a Bayswater
woman who was found in the trunk of
a car.
Authorities say that at 1:49 a.m. on
April 14, offi cers from the 101st Precinct
saw the men placing a large object inside
the trunk of a Nissan Altima sedan
parked in front of Foam Place in Far
Rockaway. Th e men then piled into the
sedan and began to drive away.
Th e offi cers followed and conducted
a car stop in the vicinity of Nassau
Expressway and Bayview Avenue.
Th e investigation found 31-year-old
Nazareth Claure, of 25-66 Bessemund
Ave., in the trunk unconscious and unresponsive,
and wrapped within a blanket.
EMS rushed to the location and
declared Claure dead at the scene. Th e
medical examiner will determine the
cause of death.
Th e four men were taken into custody
at the scene, one of whome was not
charged. As a result of the investigation,
police also arrested 22-year-old Allan
Lopez, who police said in a press conference
was Claure’s boyfriend and is a
member of the MS-13 gang, on April 15.
He was not at the scene where Claure’s
body was found. Lopez was charged with
murder, criminal possession of a weapon
and criminal possession of a controlled
substance.
Police also charged Jose Sarmiento, 21,
Rigel Yohairo, 20, and Rodolfo Lopez,
26. Sarmiento and Yohairo were charged
with murder and criminal possession
of a weapon, while Rodolfo Lopez was
charged with concealment of a human
corpse and tampering with physical evidence.
At this time, it is not clear what the
motive behind the murder was. Th e
investigation is ongoing.

Cops cuff suspect behind synagogue
swastika drawing in Forest Hills
Police have arrested a Forest Hills man who they
believe drew a swastika onto a synagogue a few
blocks away from his home in February.
Ramtin Rabenou, 41, was arrested on Th ursday,
April 15, and charged with aggravated harassment
and criminal mischief as a hate crime aft er
he defaced a synagogue, located at 97-30 Queens
Blvd., with the symbol of hate on Wednesday, Feb.
17, police said. Rabenou was arraigned on the
charges, among others, in Queens Criminal Court
on Friday, April 16.
Surveillance footage from around the synagogue
allegedly showed Rabenou tagging various street
lamps, emergency response boxes and traffi c devices
around the time of the incident, according to
Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz.
Rabenou identifi ed himself in the footage when
police showed the suspect the tapes while questioning
him, Katz said.
Th e swastika drawing prompted an immediate
rebuke from elected leaders in the area.
Congresswoman Grace Meng, state Senator Toby
Ann Stavisky, Assemblyman Andrew Hevesi and
Councilwoman Karen Koslowitz wrote a letter
condemning the act of anti-Semitic vandalism.
“Th ere is absolutely no room for this kind of
hatred in our community,” the lawmakers said in
a joint statement. “We have consulted with the
NYPD, and are confi dent that the perpetrator
behind this cowardly off ense will be found, and
will face justice.”
Rabenou was ordered to return to court on April
30. If convicted, he faces up to 16 months to four
years in prison.

Woman struck by train after jumping
onto tracks in Sunnyside: NYPD
East to west train service in northern Queens came to a halt
on Th ursday aft ernoon aft er a woman was struck by a train in
Sunnyside.
Th e woman, who has yet to be identifi ed, was seen jumping onto
the tracks as a 7 train came into the 46th St–Bliss Station around
4:45 p.m., on Th ursday, April 15, according to police sources. Th e
NYPD, which does not suspect criminality in the incident, could
not confi rm the woman’s condition.
EMS personnel transported the woman to Elmhurst Hospital.
Firefi ghters and EMS personnel responding to the incident
made their way onto the tracks in an eff ort to provide aid to the
woman, as two trains sat on either side of the station, video of the
incident shows.
Th e subway line was delayed in both directions as emergency
responders provided aid.
