In this episode of Power Women of Queens, Luchia Dragosh meets with Collette
V. Smith. The New York Jets Head Coach Todd Bowles asked Collette to become
a coach/intern for their 2017 training camp. She jumped at this opportunity.
Collette knew that it would help level the playing fields for girls and women
around the world as the NFL’s first African-American female coach.
On October 10, 2017 Collette launched her own organization “Believe N You Inc.”
This is an organization near and dear to her heart as she visits public schools in
low-income and underserved communities to tell her story of hard knocks and
triumphs. She also instills belief in kids to dream BIG, go the distance and to never give up pursuing their dreams.
Collette was recently asked to become an Ambassador for the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence and
to become NCADV’s 40th Anniversary keynote speaker at their 17th Annual Conference on domestic violence.
This conference will take place in Providence, Rhode Island on September 23rd-26th, 2018.
