MTA opens vaccination site at Jamaica Center
New CityMD urgent care center comes to Springfi eld Gardens

CityMD, the leading urgent care provider
in the New York metropolitan
area, opened a new urgent care center in
Springfi eld Gardens on Monday, March
29, that will mark the 15th location in
Queens.
Th e new site, located at 130-30 Farmers
Blvd., will support the emergency medical
needs of families in Springfi eld Gardens
and nearby communities with convenient
weekday and weekend hours, as
well as self-check-in kiosks. Th e new location
also has on-site state-of-the-art technology,
which includes X-ray and EKG
machinery.
“Many residents of Springfi eld Gardens
are already CityMD patients, having
previously visited our 162-21 Jamaica
Ave. urgent care center,” said Vincent
Campasano, MD, chief operating offi cer,
NY region. “We are proud to be providing
the Springfi eld Gardens community with
our patient-centered care in a new convenient
walk-in location that features topnotch
medical personnel to help battle the
pandemic and assist patients with a wide
variety of health care needs.”
Patients of all ages visit CityMD for
many reasons, including treatment for
upper respiratory infections, colds and fl u,
asthma, allergies, minor lacerations, sore
throats, insect bites and rashes, among
other conditions. On-site doctors can
diagnose and treat pink eye, croup, minor
orthopedic injuries and nosebleeds. Rapid
testing for fl u, strep throat, mononucleosis,
UTIs and other conditions are also
among available services.
With urgent care locations throughout
New York and New Jersey, CityMD continues
to off er three forms of COVID-
19 testing at all locations: rapid, PCR and

coordinate their follow-up care, ranging

One of the busiest transportation hubs in
Queens is now operating as a COVID-19 vaccination
distribution center for MTA personnel.
Th e agency announced the launch of the
new operation located in the Jamaica Control
Center building which will vaccinate its workforce
from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. every Friday.
“We are proud of our 7,000 Long Island Rail
Road employees and look at them with such
admiration for all they have done in the past
year and continue to do. Th ey are our heroes,”
LIRR President Phil Eng said. “Th is new vaccination
center opens up more availability with
new appointments and makes it easier for our
heroic workforce to access the location. Th e
opening of the site at Jamaica Station marks
the third vaccination site the MTA has opened
in the last month, further ramping up eff orts
to get employees vaccinated, and we thank our
partners at Mobile Health for their dedication.”
Every Friday 200 MTA employees will be
able to receive the Pfi zer vaccine and while
LIRR employees are expected to be the primary
users of the new center, it is open to all
MTA employees.
“Th e impact that COVID-19 continues to
have on our society is not insurmountable but
controlling this problem cannot be achieved
individually,” Brotherhood of Locomotive
Engineers and Trainmen General Chairman
Kevin J. Sexton said. “I implore everyone to
do their part and get vaccinated. We are all in
this together.”

Mobile Health provides
nurses, pharmacists,
EMTs and
other medical support
at the vaccination
hub as it does at
Grand Central Terminal’s
Vanderbilt Hall and another site at
130 Livingston St. in Brooklyn.
“We are continuing our great partnership
with the MTA to bring the COVID-19 vaccine
to our city’s essential transit workers
as quickly as possible,” Mobile Health CEO
Andrew Shulman said. “We are proud to open
our third location serving MTA employees
here at Jamaica Station. We will continue to
vaccinate MTA employees at a faster rate,
now including Jamaica Station.”
