Domestic Violence arrests up Felony arrests in the 102nd Precinct are up from this time last year, Captain Hank Sautner announced at the Community Council meeting on Tuesday, March 19. Twenty of the 24 felonies accrued were related to domestic violence, he said. Of these, police have been able to make 19 arrests and have the identity of a suspect in the 20th incident. Terence M. Cullen 104TH PRECINCT Glendale, Middle Village, Maspeth and Ridgewood Cops looking for bank robber Detectives from the NYPD’s Major Case Squad are asking for your help in identifying the suspect wanted for a bank robbery. Last September, the suspect robbed the Cross County Savings Bank on Eliot Avenue. There were no reported injuries during the incident. Police say the man is 35 to 40 years old, 6’-6’2”, with a pale complexion and thin build. He was wearing thick glasses, a red wig, gray hoodie, and a blue cap with a NY logo on it. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS. 105TH PRECINCT Queens Village, Cambria Heights, Laurelton, Rosedale, Springfield Gardens, Bellerose, Glen Oaks, New Hyde Park and Floral Park Body found in Idlewild Park ID’ed, suspect arrested An arrest has been made in connection with the body found near the Idlewild Park Preserve last week, said police. The NYPD has identified the victim as 27-year-old Kadieann Chambers of Jamaica. A Queens resident, 30-year-old Carlos Evelyn, has been charged with second-degree murder and tampering with physical evidence. 106TH PRECINCT Howard Beach, Ozone Park and South Ozone Park Woman killed trying to cross the Belt A woman in her 50s was struck and killed as she tried to cross the Belt Parkway on Tuesday, March 26. A police investigation revealed that the unidentified woman was attempting to cross the west bound lanes of the Belt Parkway near the North Conduit when she was struck by a motorcycle. The motorcyclist, a man in his 40s, was taken to Jamaica Hospital and is listed in serious condition. The NYPD’s Highway Patrol Accident Investigation Squad responded and the accident investigation is ongoing. Seek cell phone robber The NYPD is looking for a man wanted in connection with the robbery of a Verizon Wireless store in Ozone Park. According to police, on Thursday, March 7, around 5:30 p.m., three suspects entered the business, located at 107-12 Cross Bay Boulevard, through a rear window and removed numerous cell phones, laptops and an undetermined amount of cash. Authorities have released a photo of one of the suspects, who is described as a 35-year-old Hispanic male, 5’8” tall and 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a sweatshirt and blue jeans. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS. 113TH PRECINCT St. Albans, Hollis, Springfield Gardens, South Ozone Park, South Jamaica, Addisleigh Park and Locust Manor One dead in Jamaica blaze Authorities are investigating an early-morning blaze after a man was found dead in the fire’s remains. According to police, around 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, March 24, police and fire personnel responded to a one-alarm fire inside 119-30 146th Street. After putting out the fire, the burned body of a man, later identified as 35-year-old James Minor of Poughkeepsie, was discovered in the basement. According to police, in each incident the suspects drove to the gas station in a dark-colored minivan. The driver exited the vehicle, watched the locations and returned to the minivan. The second suspect then left the vehicle, entered the location and either displayed a black handgun or simulated having a gun under his shirt and demanded money and cigarettes from the register. On Saturday, March 16 at 5:40 a.m., one of the suspects simulated a firearm under his shirt as he robbed the Gulf Gas Station at 241-15 Hillside Avenue in Jamaica. On Tuesday, March 19 at 4 a.m. one suspect displayed a black firearm while robbing the Exxon Gas Station at 137-21 Liberty Avenue in Jamaica. On Wednesday, March 20 at 6:22 a.m. one of the suspects displayed a black handgun as he robbed the Mobil Gas Station at 133-11 Roosevelt Avenue in Flushing. Both suspects are described as Hispanic males. One suspect is 5’10” to 6’ tall, with a large build and a mustache.
