Photo courtesy of Queens District Attorney’s Office New Editor-in-Chief at The Queens Courier Schneps Communications announced that it has promoted Robert Pozarycki to editorin chief at The Queens Courier and The Courier-Sun. Pozarycki spent a decade at the Times Newsweekly and Ridgewood Times, starting out as a freelance reporter in 2004 before moving up to full-time status a year later. He was named associate editor in 2013 and was promoted to managing editor the following year. When Schneps Communications purchased the Times Newsweekly and Ridgewood Times in February, Pozarycki was named the paper’s editor-in-chief. He will continue in this role while serving as editor-in-chief at The Courier and Courier-Sun. Tom Topousis, the previous editor-in-chief of The Courier and Courier-Sun, moved on to the governor’s office. “We are thrilled to have Robert as editor-inchief of our group of award-winning community newspapers. He is experienced, knowledgeable and dedicated to our mission of excellence,” said co-publishers Victoria Schneps- Yunis and Joshua Schneps. “As an experienced reporter, editor, resident and parent in the borough, he understands how important our coverage is to our readers.” “It’s an honor and a pleasure to join The Courier and Courier-Sun,” Pozarycki said. “I’m looking forward to working with our dedicated news team to continue growing and enhancing our coverage across the borough.” A lifelong Queens resident, Pozarycki graduated from Archbishop Molloy High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in history from St. Joseph’s College in Brooklyn. He resides in Middle Village with his wife, Melanie, and son, David.
