A disagreement between the two 18-yearold acquaintances — Isaiah Lee and Darnell Green — turned violent about 12:50 p.m. on March 6 at the Carleton Manor NYCHA development at 71-15 Beach Channel Dr. where Lee lives, authorities said. Green reportedly showed up at Lee’s doorway and shot him in the face and chest. Lee was taken to St. John’s Episcopal Hospital, where he died. After announcing Green as a suspect in the murder earlier in the day, authorities said late Saturday that they had arrested Green, a Brooklyn resident. Green was arraigned March 7 on charges of seconddegree murder and criminal possession of a weapon, according to a spokeswoman for District Attorney Richard Brown. He was also charged with endangering the welfare of a child because an 11-year-old and a toddler were standing in the doorway as he was shooting at the victim. 105th Precinct Queens Village, Cambria Heights, Laurelton, Rosedale, Springfield Gardens, Bellerose, Glen Oaks, New Hyde Park and Floral Park Man holds up three Queens businesses in one day: police A thirsty thief held up four Queens businesses this month, targeting three in one day and stealing more than $2,500 in cash — and a drink, police said. The suspect first hit the Baile Deli and Grocery at 222-15 Braddock Ave. in Bellerose at about 12:30 p.m. on March 2, according to authorities. After pulling out a gun and demanding money, the suspect took $1,000 before fleeing on foot. On March 8, at about 10:35 a.m., the same suspect allegedly robbed a Bellerose Gulf Gas station, located at 239-15 Jamaica Ave., at gunpoint, getting away with about $75 in cash. The same day, at about 1:15 p.m., he robbed another Bellerose convenience store, located at 236-11 Braddock Ave. After entering the store, the suspect played a lotto game then went to the refrigerator, took a beverage, and put it onto the counter, police said. He then displayed a gun and demanded the drink and cash. The suspect took the drink and $1,500 in cash before fleeing. Just 15 minutes later, the same man is accused of robbing a hardware store in nearby Queens Village, authorities said. The suspect entered Mogul Hardware, located at 212-44 91 Ave., flashed his gun and demanded cash again. He then grabbed $30 and fled on foot. Police describe the suspect as a white Hispanic man who is about 40 years old, 6 feet 3 inches tall and 200 pounds. He was last seen wearing a light blue “Adidas” hooded sweatshirt during the robbery at the hardware store. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS (8477). 106th Precinct South central Queens Pair wanted for stealing from Richmond Hill RadioShack Kicking RadioShack while it’s already down, a pair of suspects shoplifted from its Richmond Hill location, taking merchandise right off store shelves before fleeing, police said. The duo, a woman and man, entered the electronics store, located at 113-20 Liberty Ave., on Feb. 18 at about 5 p.m., according to authorities. While the woman distracted the store employee, her partner removed merchandise from the shelves and placed them into a bag. They then fled. Police describe the two suspects as a black woman with long hair wearing a brown jacket, and a black man wearing a black ski hat and black jacket. Though numerous RadioShack locations in Queens and throughout the U.S. are slated to close by the end of the month, the Richmond Hill store is not one of them. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS (8477). 110th Precinct Corona and Elmhurst Man exposes himself to woman on Queens R train: NYPD An R train rider had an unpleasant start to her morning when a man exposed himself to the woman as the train was at the Grand Avenue station, according to police. The incident happened as the 34-year-old victim was on board the Queensbound train about 7:40 a.m. on March 9, authorities said. As the train was at the Grand Avenue stop in Elmhurst, the man sat down in front of the woman and allegedly exposed himself. He then got off at the next stop on Woodhaven and Queens boulevards. Police describe the suspect as a Hispanic man, about 5 feet 5 inches tall and 140 pounds. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS (8477). 115th Precinct East Elmhurst, North Corona and Jackson Heights Suspect arrested in stabing death of Jackson Heights man Police have arrested a man in the murder of a 25-yearold Jackson Heights resident who was stabbed to death just outside his apartment late last year. William Avila, 22, was apprehended at his East Elmhurst home on March 6, according to authorities, and charged with second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon in the killing of Steven Shimabuku. Shimabuku was only steps from his home on 90th Street, near 35th Avenue, at about 9:15 p.m. on Dec. 19, when Avila allegedly stabbed him in the torso. The two were involved in an ongoing dispute, police said. He was able to make it back to his basement apartment, where his girlfriend called 911, according to the Daily News. Shimabuku was then taken to Elmhurst Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Earlier this year, police released a video of a suspect in the stabbing, and in late February identified the man as Avila.
