A man who owns several ATM machines throughout the city stopped at a Rockaway Boulevard bodega to replenish the machine inside and left a bag of cash on his front seat. A witness then saw somebody smash the front window and make off with the loot, according to a police source. The man typically leaves his stash in a safe inside his van, but this time left the cash loose, said the source. The ATM owner operates by himself and was making rounds refilling various machines. The investigation is ongoing. Seek suspect The NYPD is asking for your help locating the individual wanted for firing a handgun. Cops say on Sunday, February 2, the suspect fired a gun into the Magical Signs shop located at 111-09 Rockaway Boulevard. He then fled on foot. There were no reported injuries. The suspect is a male Hispanic in his 20s, 5’5” to 5’7”, 130 pounds, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black jeans and black sneakers. The suspect approached the victim on Saturday, February 1 at about 8:40 a.m. near 140-15 Rockaway Boulevard  and demanded money, police said. The male victim obeyed and was then shot in the torso. The victim was taken to Jamaica Hospital, where he was treated and released. Cops have released a surveillance photo of the suspect prior to the robbery. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS Cops are looking for a man wanted in connection to a series of Queens robberies, targeting livery cab drivers, police said. The suspect struck four times, once in October, and three times in January, the NYPD said. During the first incident, on October 12, near 27-44 Ericsson Street in East Elmhurst, the suspect robbed a 49-year-old driver at gunpoint, while a second suspect took the victim’s property, according to police. The suspect robbed another driver on January 8 near 17-16 Stephen Street in Ridgewood. When he asked him to open the trunk, a second suspect displayed a gun and demanded his property, then struck the driver in the face, leaving him with minor injuries, cops said. The victim did not comply, and the suspects fled without taking anything. On January 21 the suspect robbed a driver at gunpoint near 27-40 Ericsson Street. Three days later, he tried to rob a driver around the same location, but was unsuccessful, the NYPD said Police have released surveillance video of the suspect from the January 21 robbery, after he allegedly used the victim’s credit cards. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS. BY MAGIE HAYES mhayes@queenscourier.com Officers Joao Rosero and Christopher Martins were on routine patrol when they nabbed a suspect police called one of the most “prolific” thieves in south Queens. The pair was honored as the Jamaica Rotary’s January cops of the month for the 102nd Precinct. Rosero and Martins responded to a burglary in progress near 95th Avenue and 129th Street at about 3:30 p.m. on January 2. The suspect was trying to climb into an elderly man’s backyard, said Deputy Inspector Henry Sautner, the precinct’s commanding officer. After getting a description of 17-year-old male suspect, the “young go-getters” were able to successfully identify and arrest him. “These are the kinds of young guys we need here in the command,” Sautner said. After positively identifying him, cops found the suspect was also linked to four additional burglaries since August. The arrest took place near the border of the 106th Precinct, and Sautner said he and the 106th Precinct’s Commanding Officer, Deputy Inspector Jeffrey Schiff, are both very familiar with his crimes. The suspect also confessed to another attempted burglary earlier that same day. The Jamaica Rotary also honored Officers Scott Hamburger and Anthony Fernandez from the 103rd Precinct, Officers James Gherardi and Ryan Dunn from the 113th Precinct, Officer William Sutherland from the 106th Precinct and Officer Jared Vasquez from the Highway Collision Investigation Squad. “This borough has a reputation for great crime fighters and doing it in partnership with the community,” said David Barrere, new Commanding Officer of Patrol Borough Queens South. “We’re going to continue to get it done. We’re going to be in your corner.”
