Registration is now open for the Color Run Dream Tour event taking place at Citi Field — home of the New York Mets — on Saturday, May 27. The unique 5k event celebrating health, happiness and individuality will kick off at 9 a.m. Themed “The Dream Tour” this year, the event will feature music, color throws and an all-new Foam Zone and Dream Wall, where runners will be able to spray paint their dreams for all to see. Upon finishing the race, runners will enjoy the Finish Festival, where they’ll find fun photo op and dance opportunities. With no official times or winners, the race is a fun, non-intimidating environment perfect for helping all participants achieve their fitness goals. Runners are encouraged to dress for the event with whimsy. Each participant will receive a custom race kit, which includes a limited-edition Dream Tour race T-shirt, a Unicorns Finisher’s Medal, embroidered headband, temporary tattoos and a color-in runner’s bib. The run will also benefit Back On My Feet, a national nonprofit organization focused on helping homeless people gain independence and living skills and connect them with resources. “We want The Color Run to bring happiness and health to people’s lives, and even be the motivator that kicks off Color Runners’ healthy lifestyles,” said Alec Fowler, The Color Run’s event director. “We are excited to come to New York City and give Color Runners the opportunity to step into a dream with us and enjoy a 5k that inspires people to get out and be active with their friends and families, all while having a blast!” For pricing and registration details, visit the event website, http://thecolorrun. com/locations/new-york-city-ny/. sports Photo via ColorRun website/TheColorRun.com The RA Flyers run wild in the first competition of this year’s indoor season The St. Margaret/Resurrection Ascension Flyers kicked off the indoor season with impressive performances by all the runners at the Ragazzo Relays, winning gold, silver and bronze medals in a variety of events. The Flyers who brought home the gold in the 800-meter medley were bantam boys Conor O’Leary, Josiah Boulet, Kevin Isca and Andrew Kelly. Bantam girls Isabella Torres, Alexis Cleverly, Nora Olmo and Olia Higgins also won gold in the same event, while novice boys Stephen Honan, Robert Larkin and Thomas Fischer had a gold-medal-winning performance in the long jump. In the 800-meter medley junior boys Richard Hubert, Christian Petrov, Armaan Sett and Sean Walsh earned a silver medal. Also receiving silver were bantam boys Ronan O’Leary, Jack Larkin, Brian Honan and Conn Reilly for their 800-meter run. Winning bronze medals for the Flyers were novice boys Anthony Pedicini, Frank Santoro, Finn Healing, and Gavin Walsh, along with novice girls Caroline Gordon, Lena Olszouka, Grace Finnegan and Aileen Mitarotonda for their performance in the 800-meter medley. The RA Flyers’ coaches were proud of their other medal winners including junior/senior boys Nicholas Catapano, Elias Mulligan and Owen Kelly and girls Linn Finnegan, Athalia Mulligan and Paulina Lisowski for their performance in the 400-meter medley. Also receiving medals for their 400-meter run were junior boys Sean Reilly, Daniel Marmolejos, Unai Higgins and Victor Ostling. Bantam girl Amber Marmolejos and bantam boy Joshua Jazmin won medals in the long jump. Junior boy Kacper Niepokoj placed in the senior/junior 1,000-meter race. The Flyers’ last medal winners were the peewees for their amazing relay performance in the 200-meter run. Girls Savannah Conroy, Emily Pedicini, Ciara Reilly and Olivia Santoro and boys Jack Clark, Ethan Joseph, Dylan Isca and James Gordon also performed admirably at the Ragazzo Relays.
