Train conductor punched by
scary straphanger in Woodside
Police are looking for an individual who
punched and spit on a train conductor in
Woodside last month.
At around 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec.
21, an unidentifi ed person assaulted a
39-year-old female MTA train conductor
as she looked through an open train
car window on a stationary 7 train at
the 69th Street station, according to the
NYPD. Aft er delivering the blow, the individual
ran off in an unknown direction,
police say.
Th e train conductor was removed
from her post and taken to Lenox Hill
Healthplex Hospital, where she reported
swelling and pain to her face, cops say.
“Th is attack was appalling, unprovoked
and unacceptable,” Andy Byford, the president
of MTA NYC Transit, said in a statement
to QNS. “Th e conductor was simply
doing her job when she was punched and
spat on without warning. What kind of
person does that?”
On Jan. 6, the NYPD released a photo
of the suspect taken from surveillance
footage. Anyone with information in

Cops seek purse thief inside
Forest Hills subway
Th e NYPD is looking for a man who
snatched a woman’s purse inside a Forest
Hills subway station last month.
At 4:20 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 20, the
alleged thief approached a 24-year-old
woman as she exited the 75th Avenue
subway station on the E/F line. He quickly
and forcibly grabbed the woman’s purse
and ran off , according to the NYPD.
Th e purse contained jewelry and credit
cards — an estimated value of $5,000,
police say.
A police investigation later found that
the man attempted to use the stolen credit
cards to purchase merchandise from
a Manhattan video game store in Union
Square around 10:30 a.m., the same day.
Th e suspect was caught on camera while
browsing the store.
Th e suspect, believed to be between the
ages of 25 and 35, was last seen wearing
a dark cap, an orange and black coat and
dark pants, according to the police.

Deranged bigot shouts and
spits at woman outside
Far Rockaway yeshiva
Cops need the public’s help in fi nding
a man connected to yet another
anti-Semitic incident in the city – this
one occurring outside a Far Rockaway
yeshiva.
Police released on Friday video footage
of the suspect connected to the bias
crime, which occurred at 9:40 a.m. on
Dec. 24 near the Talmud Torah Siach
Yitzchok yeshiva at 15-13 Central Ave.
According to law enforcement sources,
the perpetrator attempted to enter
the school, but was denied entry by staff .
Aft er being turned away, he came across
a 44-year-old female driver sitting inside
a car parked outside the yeshiva.
Police said the bigot hurled anti-Semitic
slurs at the woman, then spat at her
through an open passenger side window
and fl ed the scene.
Th e incident was reported to the 101st
Precinct; the woman was not injured.
Cops described the suspect as a black
man in his 20s with a slim build.

shooting that left one
man injured: NYPD
Th e NYPD is looking for two individuals
involved in a drive-by shooting earlier
this month in Springfi eld Gardens.
At around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan.
2, the pair, sitting inside a red, four-door
sedan, fi red several shots at a 25-yearold
man as he walked on the sidewalk in
front of 133-28 Springfi eld Blvd., according
to the NYPD.
Th e duo sped off westbound on
Merrick Boulevard while the victim,
shot once on his right thigh, was taken
to Jamaica Hospital by private means.
Police report there were three people
inside the sedan, although only two
fi red shots.
A motive could not be confi rmed by
the NYPD. Th e investigation into the
assault is ongoing.
