He was a United States Army Veteran and an NYPD police offi cer. Private cremation was held on Tuesday, Dec. 15, at Fresh Pond Crematory, Middle Village, under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home, Maspeth. +++ PHILOMENA STRABOLI died Saturday, Dec. 12, at the age of 100. She was the beloved wife of the late Nicholas Straboli, loving mother of Carole Kelly and Diane Rebholz and mother-in-law of Jim and Raymond, cherished grandmother of Janine, Brian, Kara, Cristopher and Kevin, and great grandmother of Mena, Morgan, James, Declan, Bryce, Oliver and Lindsey. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. She was a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Hope Church, member of the Rosary Altar Society, Eucharstic Minister, and past-president and treasurer of the Golden Ages. She was also among the fi rst New York City school crossing guards. A Mass of Christian Burial was off ered at Our Lady of Hope Church on Saturday, Dec. 19, followed by entombment at St. John Cemetery, Middle Village, under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home, Maspeth. +++ ANNETTE FISCINA died Wednesday, Dec. 16, at the age of 81. She was the beloved sister of Carmine Fiscina, Mary Ann Fiscina and the late Patricia DeRosa, loving aunt of Darlene, Michele, Julie Ann and Mandy, great aunt of Edward, Jessica, Christian, Jose, James, Jadley, Anna and Anthony, and cherished daughter of the late Pasquale and Concetta.
