According to law enforcement sources, the home invasion occurred at 8:30 a.m. at a home on 90th Avenue. Reportedly, the suspect— described as a 40-year-old black male standing 5’10”-tall and last seen wearing a dark sweatshirt, a dark jacket and gray pants—pushed his way through a basement door and confronted the male victim. Authorities said threatened the victim by displaying a wrench, then removed $20 in cash, the victim’s debit card and a cell phone. Moments later, police noted, the suspect fled from the scene on foot and later used the debit card to make three unsuccessful attempts to withdraw money from the victim’s bank account. The home invasion was reported to the 102nd Precinct; the victim was not injured. Anyone with information regarding the robbery or the suspect’s whereabouts that could prove helpful is asked to call the 102nd Precinct Detective Squad at 1-718-805-3212 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
