Police looking for
suspect who threatened
an E train rider before
stealing with cellphone
The NYPD has released video surveillance
images of a suspect in a robbery in broad
daylight at the Jackson Heights transit hub
earlier this month.
At around 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 15,
on the E train platform inside the Roosevelt
Avenue-Broadway subway station, an
18-year-old man was approached by the
unidentifi ed man who asked to use his
cellphone.
The victim produced his gold iPhone
10XMax valued at $399. The assailant ripped
the phone from the victim’s hand and
threatened to punch him if the victim tried
to take it back, police said.
The suspect jumped on a Manhattanbound
E train and the victim was not injured.
The video shows a Black man with short
dreadlocks and facial hair wearing a dark
puff y winter jacket and a dark baseball cap,
white earbuds and blue jeans.
No arrests have been made. The
investigation is ongoing.

Queens Boulevard
bodega in Elmhurst
Police from the 110th Precinct in
Elmhurst are on the lookout for a man who
walked into a Queens Boulevard bodega last
month and made off with $72,000 in cash,
according to the NYPD.
The suspect entered the Sariling Atin
Grill and Filipino Grocery, located at 89-12
Queens Blvd., just aft er 8 p.m. on Saturday,
Nov. 20, and went directly behind the
unattended counter. The man can be seen
on video surveillance as he rifl ed through
the cash register, removing the $72,000
before exiting the store.
The suspect then walked around the
corner, removed the mask and the hooded
sweatshirt he was wearing during the
robbery, and hid the cash in the hoodie
before taking off in a dark-colored Nissan
SUV, police said.
No arrests have been made, and the
investigation is ongoing.
