It was noted that all criminal charges are accusations and all persons listed in this blotter are presumed innocent until proven guilty. 110th Precinct Corona & Elmhurst DEADLY STABBING ON TURKEY DAY IN ELMHURST Detectives are searching for the person who plunged a knife into a man’s chest along an Elmhurst street on Thanksgiving Day. Law enforcement sources said Bronx resident Jan Carlos Salcedo, 23, was stabbed in the torso front of a home on Judge Street between Elmhurst and Whitney avenues at about 12:18 p.m. on Nov. 24. The motive for the attack remains unknown; police did not have a description of Salcedo’s attacker. Salcedo was taken by private means to nearby Elmhurst Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later. The incident was reported to the 110th Precinct. No arrests have been made, and an investigation is ongoing. ������������������ “When Only The Best Will Do!” Great Quality, Fair Pricing! Joseph Amatuccio, 34, of 151st Avenue who was apprehended at the scene, was charged with second-degree murder and weapons possession for allegedly killing Christopher Cognato, 30, who resided on 102nd Street in Howard Beach. Sources familiar with the investigation told QNS the shooting was the result of a dispute between the two men over a sum of money. Law enforcement sources said the shooting took place some time before 6:25 p.m. on Nov. 22 inside Amatuccio’s apartment on 151st Avenue in the Lindenwood section of the neighborhood. Offi cers from the 106th Precinct and EMS units responded to the location after receiving a 911 call about the shooting. Upon arrival, they found Cognato unconscious and unresponsive with gunshot wounds to his arm, neck and chest. Paramedics rushed Cognato to Jamaica Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival; his identity was withheld by police pending family notification.
