OBITUARIES
CAROL SHIRLEY,of Ridgewood, died on Thursday, Sept. 10, at the
age of 78. She was the beloved wife of the late Kenneth Shirley, devoted
mother of Lisa Lackner, Karen Schilling, and Deborah Como, and loving
daughter of the late Charles and Edna Weick. She is also survived by
seven grandchildren, Michael, Kristin, Chelsea, Ashley, Jonathan, Jessica,
and Dylan. Religious Services were held by Rev. Matthew Staneck
at the funeral home, followed by interment at Cypress Hills Cemetery.

SALVATORE BALLETTA died Sunday, Sept. 13, at the age of 73. He
was the beloved father of Paris Balletta, loving son of the late Lisetta
and Salvatore Balletta Sr., and cherished uncle of many loving nieces
and nephews. He was a United States Navy veteran who served during
the Vietnam War. A memorial service will be held at Papavero Funeral
Home on Saturday, Nov. 21, from 9:30 to 11 a.m., followed by interment of
cremated remains at Calvary Cemetery, Woodside, under the direction
of Papavero Funeral Home, Maspeth.

MARY MANTA CIAVARELLA died Sunday, Nov. 15, at the age of 92.
She was the beloved wife of the late Frank R. Ciavarella, loving mother of
Laura (the late Joe) Ciavarella-Sanchez, Linda (Ron) Bessent, Paula (Blake)
Caravati, Frank J. (Cyndi) Ciavarella, Joen (Caren Hyde) Ciavarella, and
Robert (Rosanna) Ciavarella, cherished grandmother of Lauren, Peter,
Victoria, Julia, Lydia, Francesca, Robert F. and Thomas, and greatgrandmother
of Benjamin, Mary, Mia, Kyleah, Luke and Sam. She is
also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian
Burial will be off ered at St. Stanislaus Church at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday,
Nov. 21, followed by interment at Lutheran All-Faiths Cemetery, Middle
Village, under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home, Maspeth.
