Cops catch suspected Ridgewood fl asher who exposed himself to young girls

A man who allegedly has been
riding his bike around Ridgewood,
Maspeth, Glendale and
Woodside fl ashing young girls since
May has been arrested, police said.
The story was fi rst reported by ABC
7 which said the 104th Precinct has the
suspect in custody and charges against
him are pending. Law enforcement
sources confi rmed that a suspect is
in custody, but would not say what
charges are being fi led against him as
they are pending.
According to the NYPD, the suspect
— who was described as either a white
or Hispanic male in his 20s, who has
been seen wearing a jacket with white
stripes on the sleeves and shoulders,
and rides a bicycle with classic dropstyle
handlebars — has committed
crimes in the 104th and 108th Precincts
in Maspeth, Ridgewood, Woodside
and Glendale.
The list of incidents is as follows:
The pervert was seen in front of a
home on 48th Street in Maspeth on
May 11, at approximately 7:24 a.m.
when he approached a 13-year-old
female, asked her for a piece of paper
and then exposed his penis. He fl ed
north on 48th Street on his bicycle.
Hours later, on May 11 at approximately
8:20 a.m., the fl asher was on
the corner of Fairview Avenue and
Stanhope Street in Ridgewood and
approached a 14-year-old female, and
again asked for a piece of paper and exposed
his genitals. He fl ed westbound
on Stanhope Street on his bike.
On May 30, at approximately 7:30
a.m., the suspect approached a 13-yearold
female victim who was walking
to school near 51st Avenue and 72nd
Place and exposed himself. The victim
continued walking away, and the
suspect fl ed on his bike in an unknown
direction.
On Friday, June 2, at approximately
7 a.m., at the corner of Borden Avenue
and Grand Avenue, the suspect fl ashed
himself to a 14-year-old female victim
and fl ed on his bicycle.
Four months later, on Oct. 2, the
creep approached a 12-year-old female
in the vicinity of Seneca Avenue and
Stephen Street at approximately 4 p.m.
and asked the victim for a piece of paper.
When the pre-teen went to give him
the sheet of paper, the suspect had his
pants down and his groin exposed. He
fl ed the scene in an unknown direction.
The sixth incident occurred on Sept.
20 at approximately 4:15 p.m. inside
of Evergreen Park, where the suspect
asked the 15-year-old female victim
for a piece of paper and again exposed
himself and fl ed in an unknown direction
on his bike.
On Oct. 17, at 7:50 a.m. police reported
that the suspect was seen at the
intersection of Palmetto Street and
Forest Avenue when he approached
the 12-year-old female victim who was
standing on the corner. The male made
a statement to get the girl’s attention,
but the victim turned and walked
away. The suspect fl ed the location on
his bicycle in an unknown direction.
On Nov. 2, at 7:40 a.m. on Madison
Street, the unidentifi ed suspect approached
an 11-year-old female, made a
statement to get her attention, exposed
his penis and fl ed on his bike.
Minutes later, on Nov. 2, at 7:45 a.m.,
the suspect approached two female
victims — 12- and 13-years-old — on
Forest Avenue, made a statement to get
their attention, exposed his genitals
and fl ed on his bike.
None of the victims were injured,
police said.
As of press time on Wednesday
aft ernoon the suspect’s identity had
not been revealed.
