On Sunday, Sept. 6, at approximately 1 a.m., the 26-year-old female victim was walking in the area of Evergreen Avenue and Grove Street when the suspect, described as a black male, grabbed her from behind, forced her to the ground and attempted to sexually assault her. The victim fought off the suspect and sustained minor injuries to her head and body. After the struggle the suspect fled the location without further incident. The case was reported to the 83rd Precinct. The suspect was last seen wearing a red shirt. Seek two suspects in Woodhaven scam Detectives are asking for help in finding two suspects in Woodhaven who tricked an 80-year-old woman into giving them $90,000 in cash earlier this month. On Wednesday, Sept. 9, two suspects approached the woman at 80-35 Jamaica Ave. after exiting a Jeep Cherokee Latitude at about 2:30 p.m. The first suspect, described by police as a Hispanic woman in her early 40s, asked the victim if she could help her cash a winning lottery ticket. The second suspect, a Hispanic male wearing a pink shirt and blue jeans, explained to the victim what she had to do to cash the winning lottery ticket, police said. The suspects convinced the victim to withdraw and provide them $90,000. After the victim gave them the money, the suspects drove the woman to her house and asked her to provide a utility bill to prove that was her residence. When the victim came out of her house to produce the bill, both suspects fled the scene. The incident was later reported to the 102nd Precinct. Man wanted in Woodside laundromat robbery Police are asking for the public’s help in tracking down a man wanted for prying open a Woodside laundromat, stealing money and displaying a knife at the owner of the business before fleeing. On Sept. 15 at 7:10 a.m., the suspect – described as a Hispanic man – forced open the front door of Lung Fai Laundromat at 58-07 Woodside Ave., according to authorities. He then went behind the shop counter and took about $20 from the cash drawer. When confronted by the store owner, the suspect displayed a knife and then fled the site, cops said. The suspect was last seen wearing a baseball cap, white sneakers and black jeans. Police have released photos and video surveillance of the suspect.
