OBITUARIES
JOHN “JACK” BOYLE died on
Saturday, August 24, at the age of
77. He was the beloved husband
of Dawn E. Boyle, loving father of
Patrick Boyle and Catilin Boyle,
cherished brother of Charles
Boyle, Ruth Burke and Mary Alice
McCrann and dear doggy dad
to Rusty. He is also survived by
many loving nieces, nephews and
friends.
Mr. Boyle was a U.S. Army
veteran who served in the 82nd
Airborne Paratroopers Division.
He was also a NYC Transit Police
Offi cer and an FDNY fi refi ghter
for 30 years, serving as a member
of Rescue Company 1 in Midtown
Manhattan. He also served during
the rescue and recovery operations
following the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist
attacks. Mr. Boyle was named the
recipient of the FDNY Holy Name
Society “Man of the Year” Award in
2002 and received the Holy Name
Society Medal in 1979 for rescuing
children from a fi re.
A Mass of Christian Burial will
be off ered today, Thursday, August
29, at 10:45 a.m. at Our Lady of Hope
Church, Middle Village, followed
by interment at St. John Cemetery,
Middle Village, under the direction
of Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27
Grand Ave., Maspeth.
In lieu of flowers, memorial
donations may be made to the
Wounded Warrior Project,

NANCY J. SWICORD of Glendale
died on Saturday, August 24, at the
age of 72. She was the wife of the late
Nathan Swicord, devoted mother of
Veronica and John Padilla and David
and Andrea Swicord, daughter of
the late Alfred and Elizabeth Klotz,
dear sister of Alfred Klotz and fond
grandmother of Kailey and Kate
Swicord. Services were off ered at
graveside at All Faiths Cemetery,
Middle Village, under the direction
of Werst & LaBella Funeral Home,
71-41 Cooper Ave., Glendale.

ANNA KOENIG of Ridgewood
died on Friday, August 23, at the age
of 91. A native of Unterweibenbach,
Gottschee, Yugoslavia, she was
the devoted mother of Joseph
Koenig and the late Frank Koenig.
She is also survived by two
grandchildren. A Mass of Christian
Burial was off ered at St. Matthias
Church, Ridgewood, followed by
interment at All Faiths Cemetery,
Ridgewood, under the direction of
Park Funeral Chapel, 2175 Jericho
Tpke., New Hyde Park.

SERGIO ARMANDO INDART
died on Wednesday, August 21, at
the age of 85. He was the beloved
husband of Geraldine Indart, loving
father of Amanda Ricottone, fatherin
law of Charles, and cherished
grandfather of Marc and Gabriella.
He was a dear uncle to many nieces
and nephews. Mr. Indart was a U.S.
Army veteran. A Mass of Christian
Burial was off ered on Saturday,
August 24, at Our Lady of Hope
Church, Middle Village, followed by
cremation at Fresh Pond Crematory,
Middle Village, under the direction
of Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27
Grand Ave., Maspeth.

WALTER A. HUDERSKI died
on Tuesday, August 20, at the age
of 88. He was the beloved husband
of Sylvia Huderski, loving father
of Walter Huderski and Karen
Dayawon, father-in-law of Janet
and Nick, cherished grandfather of
Louis, Beth Anne, Nick and Dawn,
and great-grandfather of Theo.
He was also a dear uncle to many
nieces and nephews. Mr. Huderski
was a U.S. Navy veteran who served
during the Korean Confl ict. A Mass
of Christian Burial was off ered on
Friday, August 23, at Our Lady
of Hope Church, Middle Village,
followed by interment at Calverton
National Cemetery, Calverton,
New York, under the direction
of Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27
Grand Ave., Maspeth.
