The NYPD is now seeking the public’s assistance in locating and identifying the individual responsible for the assault. According to authorities, just after 4 a.m. on Aug. 23 the suspect — identifi ed as a white Hispanic man — and the 42-year-old victim started arguing outside La Fogata Restaurant, located at 1549 Gates Ave. The argument quickly turned violent when the suspect punched the victim in the face, knocking him to the ground where he was then kicked in the ribs, police said. EMS and the 83rd Precinct responded to the scene. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he remains in critical condition.
