Cops seek man who broke
into three restaurants
and a grocery store
across Queens
The NYPD is looking for a man who made a habit of
burglarizing chain restaurants and grocery stores
across Queens in June.
In total, the unidentifi ed man allegedly stole at
least $1,800 from four establishments over the course
of 15 days in June, according to the NYPD.
On Tuesday, June 9, around 5 a.m., the man used
an object to break the drive-through window of a
Dunkin’ Donuts located at 61-03 Flushing Ave., in
Maspeth, according to the police. Once inside, he
broke open three cash registers and stole $1,500,
police said. He fl ed the scene on a bicycle.
Later that week, on Thursday, June 11, around 7
a.m., the man broke open the side door of a Boston
Market located at 50-01 Queens Blvd., in Woodside,
according to the authorities. The man left the eatery
before stealing any property, police said.
The following week, on Friday, June 19, around 1:05
a.m., the man broke the front window of a Subway
Restaurant, located at 100-21 Queens Blvd., in Forest
Hills, cops said. The man allegedly stole a cash register,
which contained $150, according to the police.
For his fi nal caper on Tuesday, June 23, around
11:52 p.m., the man was allegedly joined by an accomplice
who acted as a lookout, according to the NYPD.
The man threw an unknown object through the front
glass door of Soy Bean Chan Grocery, located at 89-02
Queens Blvd., in Elmhurst, police said.
Once inside, the man stole $150 in cash, as well
as a few cartons of cigarettes, according to the
authorities.
Police recovered surveillance footage of the man
from the fi rst and last incident.
No arrests have been made and the investigation
is ongoing.

Thief robs two men at
gunpoint in Ozone Park
The NYPD is looking for a man who attempted to
rob a 50-year-old and 60-year-old man in Ozone Park
earlier this month.
On Sunday, Aug. 2, around 4:25 a.m., the unidentifi
ed man approached the two men around 97th Avenue
and 80th Street, according to police. The man
pulled out a gun and demanded that the 50-year-old
and the 60-year-old hand over their money, cops
said.
The two men lunged at the thief and began to
fi ght for possession of the handgun, according to
the NYPD. During the struggle, the man used the
gun to hit the 60-year-old, who fell to the ground,
fracturing his hip as a result of the fall, according
to the police.
The man then ran from the scene and drove off
in a gray Jeep Grand Cherokee southbound on 80th
Street, the authorities said.
The 60-year-old was taken to Jamaica Hospital in
stable condition.
The assailant is described by the police as being
around 30 to 40 years old, standing 6 feet, 1 inch tall.
He was last seen wearing a mask, a light colored
baseball hat, a white sweater, dark colored pants
and gray sneakers.
