With assistance from the 104th Precinct’s anti-graffiti team, the volunteers painted over tags on the railroad bridge above Calamus Avenue, wiping out the vandalism in just 90 minutes time. Len Santoro, JPCA vice president and Juniper Juniors coordinator, thanked the precinct and those who volunteered their time for the cause. Assemblyman attends small business forum The Woodhaven Business Improvement District (BID) held a Small Business Forum on Tuesday, July 28, at the Avenue Diner, located at 91-06 Jamaica Ave. Assemblyman Mike Miller attended the event, which started at approximately 7 p.m., along with invited representatives from National Grid and ConEd. The forum discussion was centered around ways that small business owners could save money by using energy-efficient products and methods. Silver anniversary for a Glendale real estate broker On Thursday, July 30, Coldwell Banker Kueber Realty hosted its 25-year celebration. Cruise night at Atlas Park in Glendale The East Coast Car Association will hold its next classic car cruise night on, Aug. 13, from 5 to 9 p.m. at The Shops at Atlas Park, located at 8000 Cooper Ave. in Glendale. Guests are encouraged to bring nonperishable food items for donation to the Sacred Heart Church food pantry in Glendale. Musicians from the Joe Fuoco Music Center will provide entertainment as car enthusiasts check out classic rides on display. The association is also accepting monetary donations in support of St. Mary’s Children’s Hospital of Bayside. Queensboro UNICO installs new leader Members of Queensboro UNICO, an Italian-American charitable organization, installed its new president, Mike Mucaria, during an Aug. 4 ceremony.
