Police reportedly arrested Sadie Silver, 40, principal of P.S. 28 at 1001 Herkimer St. in Bedford-Stuyvesant, and Michael Acosta, 34, on charges of first-degree promoting prison contraband, third and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and endangering the welfare of a child. The festivities included unlimited carousel rides, various strawberry desserts and performances by a barber shop quartet. Proceeds raised during the event will support the historical society’s various programs. Some of its members, many of whom dressed for the occasion in Victorian period garb, are pictured at right.
