A train service will be suspended between Rockaway Boulevard and Lefferts Boulevard this weekend, from 11:45 p.m. Friday, July 25, until 5 a.m. Monday, July 28. During this period, Howard Beach-bound and Far Rockaway-bound A trains will skip the 88th Street and Rockaway Boulevard stations. Throughout the weekend, A trains will operate between 207th Street and either Howard Beach-JFK Airport or TRAFFIC NEWS and Updates New York City Department Of Transportation No Street Cleaning Mon. Through Wed. Alternate-side parking rules will be suspended between Monday, July 28, and Wednesday, July 30, in observance of the Islamic holy days of Idul-Fitr. Meter regulations, however, will remain in effect citywide. * * * Because of ongoing construction work at several locations throughout Queens and Brooklyn, the city DOT has announced numerous street closures in local neighborhoods for the upcoming week. The announced diversions are current as of Wednesday, July 23, and weather permitting. The DOT may shut down other roads should the need for emergency repairs arise. Streets and highways that are affected by closures during this week include the following: Street Resurfacing In LIC, Forest Hills Weather permitting, DOT crews will conduct resurfacing along the following streets: • Dartmouth Street between 69th Avenue and Yellowstone Boulevard in Forest Hills for paving on Friday, July 25; • Fleet Street between Yellowstone Boulevard and 70th Avenue in Forest Hills for paving on Thursday, July 24; and • Vernon Boulevard between Broadway and 34th Avenue in Long Island City for nighttime paving on Thursday, July 24, and Friday, July 25. Parking is prohibited on these streets during work hours; all vehicles found parked will be towed away at the owner’s expense. Lane Closures On Van Wyck Expwy. One of three lanes in each direction of the Van Wyck Expressway between Jewel Avenue and Union Turnpike may be closed on Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. due to construction work related to the Kew Gardens rehabilitation project. Additionally, up to two lanes in either direction of the expressway in the same section may be closed on overnights from 1 to 5 a.m. Kew Gdns. Project Affects Union Tpke. Long-term construction related to the state Department of Transportation’s Kew Gardens Interchange project will require the right lane of Union Turnpike eastbound to be closed at all times between 128th and 134th streets. All existing traffic lanes will remain open and are shifted to the left. -SEE TRAFFIC ON PG. 54- • Lefferts Boulevard—on Lefferts Boulevard at Liberty Avenue. More Disruptions Affect The 7 Line Manhattan-bound 7 trains will skip the 111th Street, 103rd Street, 90th Street and 82nd Street stations this weekend, from 11:45 p.m. Friday, July 25, until 5 a.m. Monday, July 28. For service to these stations, take the 7 train to Junction Boulevard or 74th Street, then transfer to a Flushing-bound 7 train. For service from these stations, take the 7 train to Junction Boulevard or Mets-Willets Point, then transfer to a Manhattanbound 7 train. No Weekend N Trains Cross The East River N train service will be suspended between Queensboro Plaza and Times Square-42nd Street this weekend, from 11:30 p.m. Friday, July 25, until 5 a.m. Monday, July 28.
