More Disruptions Affect The 7 Line There will be no 7 train service between 74th Street and Times Square-42nd Street this weekend, from 2 a.m. Saturday, May 31, until 5 a.m. Monday, June 2. Early End To Some M Train Service M train service between 47th-50th Streets and 71st-Continental Avenues will end early tonight, Thursday, May 29. The last Middle Village-bound M train will depart 71st-Continental Avenues at 9:08 p.m., while the last Forest Hills-bound M train will depart Metropolitan Avenue at 8:46 p.m. and from 47th-50th Streets at 9:24 p.m. Thereafter, M trains will operate normal service between Metropolitan Avenue to 47th-50th Streets before switching to the F line to the last stop, 57th Street. Rich Hill Rob Pattern Say Perpetrators Targeting Asian Victims by Noah Zuss Detectives are investigating a pattern of robberies in South Richmond Hill in which two perpetrators targeted Asian victims, according to police. -SEE PATTERN ON PG. 55- A grand jury has returned two indictments charging seven individuals with being members of two organized fraud rings operating in Flushing and Bayside over the past two years. -SEE RING ON PG. 56- Six of the defendants are in custody and were arraigned last week in Queens County Supreme Court. A seventh defendant remains at large, according to Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown. “The indictments are the result of a 24-month investigation that included months of court-authorized wiretaps, video and physical surveillance and thousands of intercepted telephone calls, many of which required translation from Chinese and Korean to English,” Brown said last Thursday, May 22, in announcing the indictments with Police Commissioner Bill Bratton. “These six individuals allegedly profited through utilizing information of actual victims and sometimes even fictitious identities,” Bratton added. “Thanks to the hard work of the investigators and prosecutors involved, these individuals will no longer be able to exploit information for their own personal gain.” Brown identified the suspects as Joung Duck Woo (a.k.a. Beach Soldiers across Queens came to Howard Beach on Sunday, May 25, for a veterans’ jobs fair hosted by City Council Member Eric Ulrich at Russo’s on the Bay. As noted, hiring managers from a host of local companies met with veterans regarding hundreds of job openings.
