Hill Police are asking the public’s help in finding a man who robbed a female cab driver on a Richmond Hill street last month. Authorities said the trouble began at 3:30 a.m. on April 13, when the driver picked up the suspect — a white man in his mid-50s standing 5 foot 11 inches tall and weighing between 180 and 200 pounds — in front of a location on Jamaica Avenue near 94th Street in Woodhaven. While inside the vehicle, law enforcement sources said, the perpetrator demanded the driver’s property while en route to the intersection of 105th Street and 91st Avenue in Richmond Hill. After a brief scuffle, police noted, the crook grabbed the driver’s cellphone, tablet and an undetermined amount of cash, then exited from the vehicle on 104th Street on foot. The incident was reported to the 102nd Precinct; the driver was not seriously injured. Police said the suspect was last seen wearing a light-colored winter hat and jacket. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers hotline at 800-577- TIPS, or for Spanish, 888-57- PISTA (74782). 104 Precinct Blotter 102nd Precinct Kew Gardens, Richmond Hill, Woodhaven and Ozone Park • Masonry “When Only The Best Will Do!” Great Quality, Fair Pricing! Three men arrested and charged after a shooting at St. John’s University dorm Police units rushed to St. John’s University on the afternoon of May 11 after receiving a 911 call about shots fired on the Jamaica campus. The reported shooting occurred at approximately 1:25 p.m. inside the campus at 8000 Utopia Parkway in Jamaica. According to police, three men entered room 510 at Hollis Hall dormitory and attempted to rob four men inside of the room. A shot was fired but the bullet bounced of the wall and nobody was injured. Three individuals then fled on foot, empty-handed on 167th Street where they were arrested. Previous reported rumors about the gun used in the robbery being a BB gun were denied by the police who confirmed it was a revolver. Three men were charged with the following: • Mustafa Godbolt (21) who fired from the gun was charged with robbery, burglary, reckless endangerment, criminal possession of a gun and criminal possession of a controlled substance (Xanax). • Sutpon Tyrrel (17) was charged with robbery, burglary and criminal possession of a gun (a knife). • Anthony Gusthas (18) was charged with robbery and burglary. Interestingly, the last day to move out of the freshmen Hollis Hall dormitory is on Thursday, May 12, and a majority of underclassmen have moved out by the time of the shooting, a student on the campus told QNS. The 510 room where the shooting occurred is a 10-person room. It is unclear whether the campus security was available at Hollis Hall at the time of the robbery. St. John’s representative said in a statement: “Safety is a top priority at St. John’s and, at this time, there is no continuing threat to the campus community. The University is working closely with the NYPD which is continuing its investigation at this time.”
