MARIA TULIC of Glendale died on
Saturday, April 20, at the age of 94. A
native of Croatia, she was the devoted
mother of Olga Nikodin and the late
Vera Luca. Services were off ered at
Morton Funeral Home/Ridgewood

Ridgewood, followed by interment at
Linden Hill Cemetery, Ridgewood.

JUAN F. BALANDRA died on
Friday, April 19, at the age of 78. He
was the husband of the late Ana
Acosta, and loving father of Raphael,
Mireya, Camilo, Miguel, Juan, Rolando,
Jimmy, Henry and the late Patricia and
Matilde. He was also the cherished
grandfather of 23 grandchildren
and great-grandfather of 23 greatgrandchildren.
Services will be
off ered today, Thursday, April 25, at
10 a.m. at Papavero Funeral Home,
72-27 Grand Ave., Maspeth, followed
by interment at All Faiths Cemetery,
Middle Village.

JULIJANA PICONJE of Middle
Village died on Friday, April 19, at
the age of 90. A native of Nikolinci,
Yugoslavia, she was the wife of the
late Paul Piconje and devoted mother
Mariija and Diane Vasic. She is also
survived by four grandchildren and
15 great-grandchildren. Services were

STEPHEN L. VANNATA died on
Friday, April 19, at the age of 77. He
was the beloved husband of Elizabeth
Burnett, loving father of John Vannata,
Michael Vannata and Lorraine
Almeida, father-in-law of Hilda and
Fernando, and cherished grandfather
of Christopher, James and Matthew.
He was a retired NYPD lieutenant
and U.S. Army veteran who served
during the Vietnam War. A prayer
service was off ered on Wednesday,
April 24, at Papavero Funeral Home,
72-27 Grand Ave., Maspeth. Funeral
services will be held today, Thursday,
April 25, at 10 a.m. at Papavero Funeral
Home, followed by interment at Mount
Olivet Cemetery, Maspeth.

died on Tuesday, April 16, at the age
of 73. She was the beloved mother
of Debra Settineri, Nicole Settineri
and Joseph Settineri, mother-in-law

loving sister of Ronald and Joyce
Cash. She is also survived by many
loving nieces and nephews. A Mass

JOAN WOLF of Glendale died on
Sunday, April 14, at the age of 83. A
native of Brooklyn, she was the wife
of the late Walter Wolf and devoted
mother of Diane Leistman, Kenneth
Wolf and Alan Wolf. She is also
survived by three grandchildren and
two great-grandchildren. Services
were offered at Morton Funeral
Home/Ridgewood Chapels, 663
Grandview Ave., Ridgewood, followed
by cremation at Fresh Pond Crematory,
Middle Village.
Patricia Rueckher died on Wednesday, April 10, 2019, at
the age of 90. She and her husband Fred were married for
almost 48 years. Born on February 23, 1929 in Nenagh,
County Tipperary, Ireland. Patricia moved to America,
married her husband and had 3 children who they raised
in Ridgewood before moving to Middle Village and
eventually the Long Beach area.
Patricia is survived by her two sons, Frederick III and
Niall, her daughter, Niamh, her grandchildren, Paolo, Niall
and Eva Liesl, her brother Tony and her sister Helen.
Patricia was a Registered Nurse, Licensed Midwife and
X-Ray Technician (nursing at hospitals in England, Ireland
and America). Patricia retired from nursing at Christ the
King High School. A Mass and Christian Burial was held by
Fr. Frank Shannon, followed by interment at Calverton
National Cemetery.
