Gazillion Bubbles and Gazillion
Smiles at the New York Hall of Science
- On Thursday, the Gazillion Bubble
Show will be at the New York Hall of
Science to mystify audiences of all
ages. This show will have laser lighting
eff ects and will include all kinds of
soapy masterpieces. During their
Sustainable Spring Break program,
there will be several installations
and workshops. And the Gazillion
Bubble Show preview will be free
with admission. Each day of spring
break will have sustainability-focused
activities. This includes NYSCI’s new
exhibit, Solar Cat. Tickets for Gazillion
Bubble Show are available on a fi rstcome,
fi rst-served basis.

Performance by Pianist Renee
Rosnes at Flushing Town Hall - On
Friday, pianist and composer Renee
Rosnes will perform at Flushing Town
Hall. Rosnes has toured with all of the
greats in the music industry. This list
includes James Moody, Joe Henderson,
Wayne Shorter, JJ Johnson, Bobby
Hutcherson, the SFJAZZ Collective
and pianist Bill Charlap. During this
performance she will bring her quartet,
who each offer something unique
to the band’s performance. Rosnes
will play with Peter Washington,
Steve Nelson and Lewis Nash. She
has been praised by publications
such as DownBeat Magazine, who
said she, “off ers exquisite balances
of delicacy and power, witty and
weighted ideas, assertiveness
and deference.”

Juniper Valley Park Easter/
Spring Festival - City Councilman
Robert Holden and the city’s Parks
Department are sponsoring the
festival, which will feature an
Easter egg hunt at 11 a.m. in Little
Juniper (between 80th Street and Dry
Harbor Road), as well as infl atable
bounce houses, games, craft s, music,
an NYPD rock wall, an FDNY safety
truck and a Queens Library stand.
Bring the whole family to enjoy
these festivities! (This event was
rescheduled from April 20 due to
inclement weather).

Early Morning Runs in Flushing
Meadows Corona Park - Every
Saturday, a volunteer-led initiative
meets in the morning for runs and
walks through local neighborhood
parks. Although this run will be
held in Flushing Meadows Corona
Park, this initiative occurs in all
fi ve boroughs. This free event will
be 3.1 miles long. Participants are
encouraged to arrive 15 minutes
before the start of the run and to
leave their valuables at home. They
also welcome people of all ages
and experience levels to join. The
program is a part of New York City’s
Parks’ Community Initiative. The
event will occur every Saturday until
June 1.

at the New York Hall of Science

Science to experience “Flight of
the Butterf lies,” a 3-D movie that
takes visitors on a treacherous
yet captivating journey. In the
3-D theater, visitors are a part of
the monarch butterf ly’s journey.
Visitors watch their migration
pat terns closely, witnessing
thousands f ly through the peaks
of Mexico. Experience what 40
years of research looks like to
f ind the monarch but terf ly’s
secret hideaway. Washington
Post described the 3-D fi lm
as “engrossing.” The exhibit
will run from July 1, 2018, to
June 30, 2019.
