OBITUARIES
EMANUEL D. ZIRPOLI died Friday, April 8, at the age of 101. He was the beloved husband
of the late Mildred Zirpoli, loving father of Barbara A. Zirpoli, Manuel Zirpoli and the late Ross
Zirpoli, cherished grandfather of Michael, Ross Jr., Kathleen, Michelle, John Ross, Valerie, Ashley
and Taylor, and great-grandfather of Fallon, Mann, Angelina, Anthony, Madison and Skylar.
He was a U.S. Army veteran who served during World War II. A Mass of Christian Burial was
o ered Wednesday, April 13, followed by interment at St. Charles Cemetery.

RENE PUENTES died Wednesday, April 6, at the age of 80. He was the beloved husband of
Alsacia and loving father of Jael and Yhoalibeth. Funeral services were o ered at Papavero
Funeral Home on Saturday, April 9, followed by cremation at Fresh Pond Crematory..

OVE V. NILSSON died Sunday, April 10, at the age of 87. He was the beloved husband of the
late Betty Nilsson and loving brother of Elsa Gerdes and the late Viola Hall. He is also survived
by many loving nieces and nephews. He was a member of the U.S. National Guard. A graveside
funeral service was scheduled to be held Thursday, April 14, at Flushing Cemetery, under the
direction of Papavero Funeral Home, Maspeth.
