Teen stabbed, robbed
as mob of 10 deliver
beatdown in
Jackson Heights
Police from the 115th Precinct in Jackson Heights
are searching for 10 men in connection to a beatdown
on 37th Avenue in broad daylight last week.
Just before 4 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29, the gang
was caught on video surveillance in the heart of the
Jackson Heights commercial corridor surrounding a
16-year-old boy who was operating a scooter with two
passengers, police said.
The group demanded the teen’s scooter and then
jumped the rider and his passengers, punching and
kicking the victims. The teenager was stabbed one
time in his back during the melee and the mob grabbed
his scooter, valued at $1,300; his backpack; $20 in cash;
and his iPhone XR valued at $500, according to the
NYPD.
The mob took off in the direction of Roosevelt
Avenue and a good Samaritan transported the victim
by private means to Elmhurst Hospital Center where
he was in stable condition, police said.
The NYPD released the video of the Jackson
Heights attack and a photo of one of the assailants
who was wearing a dark-hooded jacket, blue jeans
and dark sneakers.

NYPD releases video of
suspect in Sikh attack
in Richmond Hill
The NYPD released video surveillance of a man
who is suspected of attacking an elderly Sikh man in
Richmond Hill on the morning of Sunday, April 3.
Nirmal Singh, 70, was walking to the Sikh Cultural
Society Temple at 6:45 a.m. and was in the vicinity
of Lefferts Boulevard and 95th Avenue, when his
assailant snuck up from behind him and allegedly
sucker-punched him in the face in the unprovoked
assault, before running off in an unknown direction,
police said.
Following the attack, Singh was found roaming
around the Gurdwara with blood on his face and
jacket, community leader Japneet Singh told QNS.
Singh, who was wearing traditional Sikh articles
of faith, was transported by private means to Jamaica
Hospital Medical Center, where he was treated for a
broken nose, cuts and severe bruising on his face and
an injured wrist, and released, according to the NYPD.
The investigation is ongoing by the NYPD Hate
Crimes Task Force. The suspect is described as an
adult man with a dark complexion and an average
build. He was last seen wearing black sneakers, jeans
and a blue hooded sweatshirt.
